Hollywood, California: Nearly one-hundred companies submitted and presented their newest technologies for the Cine Gear Expo 2024 Technical Awards. Cine Gear’s team of expert judges, representing multiple industry disciplines, examined each product submitted at the event held at Warner Bros Studios June 7-8. After extensive deliberation, they have selected worthy production and post gear in 7 categories.

The Award for Camera Bodies went to Canon for their new EOS C400. The Camera Accessories top honor went to KineticGlass by KahnOptic while an Honorable Mention went to Core SWX for their PD Pro on set power solution. The Fujinon Duvo™ Portable PL Mount Zoom Lenses (HZK14-100mm, HZK24-300mm) picked up the Camera lens win. Filmotechnic’s Flight Head Flash won for Support Technology while Grip Rail by Matthews Studio Equipment scored the Honorable Mention.

The Lighting Technology winner is Netron EN6IP by Elation Professional. For Post Production Technology the win went to SmallHD’s Quantum32 Monitor. Film grain simulation plugin, InviziGrain by InviziPro nabbed the Honorable Mention. Each year Cine Gear’s Film Competition attracts filmmakers and audiences from around the world to view the finalists films. Cine Gear congratulates the winners of the 2024 Cine Gear Expo Film Series.

The Independent Short Film Series and Rising Star Award (presented by Godox) went to: You’re Early— Director/Director of Photography: Will Maloney, Produced by Will Maloney & Denis Maloney.

The Music Videos & Commercials, Film Series and Audience Awards went to: Strangest Thing—Director: Justin Marmorstein, Producer Marmo Films, Director of Photography: Cesar Withingham

The Student Film Award winner was: The Basics of Love—Director: Joshua Nathan, Producer: Xixian Wang, Director of Photography: Andi Obarski.

Winner of the Independent Short Films Audience Award was Motel Room— Director/Director of Photography: Bradford Lipson, Producers: Tammy Katz, Tracy Clifton, Robert C. Rodriguez, Bradford Lipson, Sahag Gureghian.

The Student Film Audience Award pick was Children of Light—Director: Minkyu Kang, Producers: Minkyu Kang, Bofan Zhang, Director of Photography: Jeong-seok Park.

This year’s Expo at Warner Bros Studios was highly lauded.
